13 Questions: Attention Thieves

1. Describe your band in 13 words or less.
A proper Rock band that will kick you in the teeth!

2. What are your main influences, both musically and otherwise?
Quite a big metal influence from bands like Meshuggah, DEP, Converge etc, as well as bands like Coheed and Cambria, Jimmy Eat World, Jamiroquai, so quite a varied mix. Away from music we are influenced by beer, cider, spirits and wine!

3. Tell us about the last record you released?
The last release was a single called 'Can't Say', which was recorded by John Mitchell at Outhouse Studios. We also shot a cool looking video for it with Sitcom Soldiers, which you can check out on YouTube. We self released this one which is a lot more work in the run up but worth it overall.
The track itself is an in your face, high tempo song with a catchy chorus that will get stuck in your head (we hope).

4. When are you next out on tour?
We are currently booking a tour for early September with a couple of other bands that we really like, we can't announce anything yet but keep an eye out for dates.

5. Your home town aside, which is your favourite city to play?
Probably somewhere further north like Birmingham or Manchester as the crowds seem to go a bit more mental than down here, must be something in the water I guess.

6. If you could go out on tour with any two other bands, who would you pick?
That's a tricky one but I'd have to say A Day to Remember, as they are proper jokers and Tool, so we can be in awe of them after every show.

7. What has been the funniest / most horrific thing that’s ever happened to you whilst on stage / tour?
Nothing too bad has happened (yet), though someone did turn off the lights to the venue while we were still playing because he wanted to go home after working, so he was popular.

8. What’s the best thing about being in a band?
People telling you they like your music is pretty cool, as well all the strippers, gangsters and fast cars!

9. What was the first record you ever bought?
Pretty embarrassing but it was 'Blue' by Eiffel 65, I was really young though.

10. What’s the most embarrassing CD in your collection?
'Blue' by Eiffel 65.

11. If you had to give up music and do a different job, what would your ideal job be?
Probably do something with space and the mysteries of it, I find it really interesting.

12. Tell us something you’ve never told anyone else in an interview.
Alex has a cat that thinks it's a dog. It tries to bark but sound like it's being sick.

13. Famous last words?
Ray Mears will be King some day!
