For
a band that's never played at Central Station before,
Befall The Aftermath (6) went hell for leather,
and frontman Kev had no problem interacting with the
crowd as often as possible. With bags of energy and
heavy riffs chugging along, BTA ripped through a good
set of songs, including some new songs in the set
list that really caught my attention. They have clearly
been working hard since I last saw them live, their
performance and music is starting to improve.
There's still a long way to go for this young band,
but up is the only way to go as long as they keep
up the hard work
I
had barely heard any of music from Gosized (9)
before last night, but they blew me away. It is difficult
for any band to come to a venue where the headlining
band is so loved by the locals, but for me, Godsized
are one of the best bands to have come through Central
Station, and stole the show to boot. With the kinds
of riffs that grab you by the balls and just keep
on pulling, Godsized have massive potential, not forgetting
the fantastic vocals from frontman Glen. It is clear
to see why they are heading out on tour with The Black
Label Society. 2011 is set to be a big year for Godsized,
watch this space!
From
the start, Severenth (8) hit the floor running
with heavy-as-hell riffs, and their new material sounds
really great live. They are a very tight live band,
and their endless energy on stage really keeps the
crowd going.
Severenth are looking forward to a bright future,
and look set to make 2011 their own. The new album
is a whole other level from their previous, and is
a really good mark of how the band are evolving into
something more than a popular local band. Their belief,
talent and hard work are going to help to push this
band forwards, and they showed it last night.
